when i connect my ps3 eye to my ps3 and i start a game with it …the image quality seems to be like an old tv nd i have a panasonic hdtv 1080p does anybody know why?

I want to connect my ps3 to my computer so it appears on my monitor.
My monitor only has a VGA port and is currently connected to my computers’ – Nvidia 9600 video card.
I want to use my ps3 to connect to my video card’s HDMI slot, and then my monitor being connected to that same video card in my computer. Even if this decreases quality, is this viable?

i have my ps3 downstairs in my theatre room, and my computer is upstairs, i have a cable modem, and i have wifi but the ps3 connects and will then disconnect moments after… i want to buy a wireless router to put downstairs. is it possible to not connect the wireless router using the cable modem or computer because i can’t have cables running all the way from upstairs to downstairs.
